Our members have many interests but all come to Butterley to have FUN

Many members like to get more involved in running our Club.

Most enjoy mucking in when jobs need doing.

In 2019 we started a complete relay of our main Lower Track.

This was a huge undertaking but brought our membership together in a joint effort.

Since 2019 we have relayed and substantially improved the whole of our layout.

Including a complete redesign of our Upper Track in 2022.

in 2023/4 we have added Track Power to our 45mm Upper Loop.

We are also adding extra siding space and a run around loop to our 45mm circuit.

The club is run by a committee and we have Annual General Meetings of the whole club.

We appoint committee members to some key roles in administering our club.

The Chairperson is Dave Gordon (on the left, putting up our Christmas lights).

The Treasurer is Colin Stubbs (on the left).

Party Manager is Glenis Poultney (in red).

Head Gardener is Glenis Poultney (centre) and her well co-ordinated team of garden helpers.

The Garden

Our garden provides an atmospheric setting in which to run our trains.

The garden has been built up over the last 30 years using mosses small plants and miniature conifers.

It can easily get over-grown and went a bit wild during lockdown.

Alive with spring blooms in 2024.

Keeping our site attractive.

Stunning photo opportunities.

We recently took on a small garden next to the toilet block.

We do have some plants that are a bit out of scale.

But they are miniature versions and only bloom for a short time.
