The Midland Railway were running their big trains on the main line for their 2023 re-opening weekend so we decided to make an effort and support them by running for both days.
WhatsApp proved its worth and allowed us to co-ordinate who went on each day and a good turnout was managed. And the weather was brilliant. Saturday was warm and sunny though Sunday was a bit more cloudy but still warm.
There was some thought of coming on the Bank Holiday Monday too but as it happened the heavens opened and it poured with news reports of high winds and floods.
Joe, Jon, Dave and Elliot took the photos.

Elliot's Photos
Elliot's well weathered Mamod drew many compliments.
No one was quite sure if it was weathered or just a Barn Find.
John's Accucraft K1 makes a rare appearance.
The K1 is called Ken The K1 (apparently).
K1's driver today is Elliot.
Dad, John, breathes a sigh of relief as his K1 returns to the siding while Eric looks on slightly amused.
